I thought that I was going to have nothing to write about today because when we woke up it was down pouring out. Luckily by the time it was time for Donna to head over to the hotel it had mostly cleared up. After taxi-ing it down with Donna to the French quarter we headed to the original Krystals (white castle) for lunch.
We continued down Bourbon Street till we reached St. Peters and went down to the St Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square. The Cathedral was beautiful inside.
After a quick stop at the river walk we went through the French market to shop for Pralines and gifts.
On our way back to Canal Street we got to listen to a band playing outside of Café Du Monde.
We stopped to play a hand at Harris before continuing our tour of the city. (I'm going to admit we walked in circles just looking at all the beautiful buildings)
Our next stop was at Café Du Monde again, this time for beignets and café au lait.
We wanted to see the sun set over the city so we took the canal st ferry to algiers (across the mississippi river) and got a great view.
We headed home to pick up the luggage and drop it off at the hotel with Donna and after a VERY long and walking filled day we are now relaxing before the official start of convention tomorrow.
(so we just calculated how far we walked today and it was 5.4 miles!!!)
