7:20am met Jersey Shore sisters Joyce, Lynda, and Heather at the Jackson Outlets so we could carpool to Hurricane Harbor for “Race for the Cure”.
8:00am at “Race for the Cure” met up with other Jersey Shore sisters Sharon, CherylAnn, Patty, Patty’s daughter Elizabeth (future ZTA hopefully), and Elizabeth’s friend (another future ZTA). Jersey Shore and all of the other ZTA alumnae and collegians present volunteered at the Survivor Lounge. We distributed pink hats and t-shirts, provided breakfast and drinks, handed out L’Oreal goody bags, greeted racers and walkers at the “in celebration of” and “in memory of” tables.

On the walk over to RFTC from our car, part of the discussion was about Think Pink w/the Giants – Giants had given ZTA tickets for the game, but was Jersey Shore on the list? Where do we park? We weren’t given a parking pass, is there even any parking if you are not a season ticket holder?
10:36am volunteering at RFTC was over. Actually it was over early, but I couldn’t stop talking to Theta Xi (Rutgers) about recruitment.
11:00am back at Jackson Outlets to drop off Joyce, Lynda, and Heather
11:30am confirmed that Theta Xi could spare one of their free parking passes for Think Pink w/the Giants later that afternoon, so I was off to Theta Xi
12:05pm at Theta Xi to pick up parking passes
12:30pm back home to do some quick Province President work
12:55pm off to pick up Heather and Lynda at the Cheesequake Rest Stop on the GS Parkway for lunch before heading to Giants Stadium
1:30pm lunch at the Peterpank Diner on Route 9 in South Amboy. No need to go back there. Should have eaten at Five Guys for lunch.
2:30pm headed to Giants Stadium with our free parking pass (thanks again Theta Xi!) for ZTA’s Think Pink distribution

3:10pm arrived and parked Giants stadium.
3:30pm walk over to the ZTA meeting location for the Think Pink distribution. It was confirmed that Jersey Shore has tickets for the night’s game! Not only that, the tickets are for club seats ($500 each).

3:45pm Heather, Lynda, and I begin our canvassing in the Giants stadium parking lot to sell $20 pink Giants hats, $20 pink footballs, and distribute free Think Pink! Think ZTA! ribbons. Our assigned area is the train station, complete opposite side of where we are. And the thing is, trains don’t start arriving until much closer to game time.
We did manage to sell 7 items @ $20 a piece (collegians did much better, some even went back to the ZTA meeting location for additional items). Besides peddling the pink items, we made friends with some of the tailgaters and collected their tab tops. REMINDER: the service project for Zeta Day is to collect tab tops for the Ronald McDonald house. There is a prize for the alumnae and collegiate chapters that collect the most (by weight)
After cutting my fingers on tab tops and breaking a nail, I had had enough.
7:05pm back at the ZTA meeting location turning in the money collected and the items we were not able to sell

7:35pm entering Giants Stadium with our $500 club seats
7:40pm after showing our tickets to the Giants employee we were allowed into the club area – it was amazing: couches, ottomans, private Giants shop, carving stations, sushi, etc. Made our way to section 236, row 11 and had to again show our tickets to walk out the door to our seats. We were on the 25-30 yard line, nice cushioned seats, plenty of leg room – so nice.

8:25pm breast cancer survivors, including ZTA District President Janet Bronocco were on the field to form a pink ribbon
8:30pm Giants kickoff vs Chicago Bears. This was Lynda and Heather’s first time to a NFL game. Will they ever be able to watch a game in their living room after our great seats and the atmosphere of being in Giants stadium, I think not.
At half time 22 former players and 8 executives were inducted into the Giants “Ring of Honor”, including my favorite Giants player, #11 Phil Simms.
11:30pm game ends, Giants win 17-3! We head back to the car and back home for the night.
Overall the day included:
Service: RFTC, tab top collection
Fundraising: pink merchandise
Alumnae/Collegiate Relations: RFTC, Think Pink w/ Giants
Sisterhood: RFTC, Think Pink w/Giants, lunch
